Take Care Of Your Health If You Want to Win

You know what? All the know how, all the strategies, planning, advertising and the like, wont make a bit of difference if you are not healthy. We all now realize that stress is not good for us.  We also know that all stress cannot be avoided, however, we can cut some of it out and try to focus n the positive stressors in our lives.

Like the stress of making that first sale, the first positive review, providing what the families want in addition to what they need. These are positive things but still they expose us to stress. Suppose we can’t make these things happen?, now that’s negative stress, too much stress and it shows up in your body as symptoms. Headaches, poor eating habits, sleep derivation. These stress can lead to hypertension, weight loss/gain, mod disorders, etc. That isn’t what I call winning.

What does the Bible say about stress?

Jesus said, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?” (Matthew 6:2527)

Sometimes we stress over money because we never seem to have enough. Many families and individuals are stressing on how to make ends meet, barley living paycheck to paycheck and others become materialistic and stress over how to maintain that lifestyle. Materialism can lead to stress because we seek the world’s goods, we have fallen for the deceitfulness of wealth.

19 but the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of riches and the desires for other things enter in and choke the word, and it proves unfruitful. (Mark 4:19) These things do not relieve stress and do not lead to happiness, contentment and joy.
Jesus offers us great encouragement in John 14:1: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.” We desperately need Him in our lives. We need Him because He is the only one who can give us the strength to cope with the troubles in our lives. Believing in Him does not mean that we will have a trouble-free life or that we will not succumb to stress in our lives. It simply means that a life without Jesus Christ makes coping with stress an impossible and often debilitating task.
Perhaps, the best scripture to teach us how to deal with stress is, Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” The Lord tells us not to be anxious about anything, but rather to turn everything over to Him in prayer. (Philippians 4:6-70)

(Psalm 55:22) tells us,  Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

You see, if you seek guidance, and apply that guidance and of course do you do diligence, like getting enough rest, eating properly for health and stamina, see the doctor regularly and then maintaining the path God has created for you, you will find that you are indeed a winner!
